First and foremost, Michelle and I want to pass along our prayers to anyone terribly affected by Hurricane Ike. Lucky for us we are all in good health and alive. Like most of Houston, our house is still without power. But you will not here us complain! It would be selfish and disrespectful to the people of Galveston if we complained about a loss of luxuries. Let’s appreciate what we do have instead of concentrating on what we don’t have. Just remember…at least the majority of us have homes to come home to. Anyways, I’ll get off my soapbox now.
On a positive note, it’s been wonderful spending so much time with my family. Without the distractions of TV, internet and computers we have spent quality time together. I’ve been out of work since the 11th. Our company closed its doors early to give their employees extra time to prepare for Ike. Monday and Tuesday our building was closed due to no running water and A/C. It looks as though I return to work tomorrow.
Like I heard on the radio, it will take time for our cities to return to some type of normalcy. Not sure if I really want to. I let you interpret that. Take care, and be good to each other.
Love,
The Cantu Family
