On Monday afternoon I purchased a softbox (lighting accessory). With the weather being cold and wet, Michelle left Morgan & me at home while she took Sadee & Joshua to formation class at church. This gave me a chance to play around with the softbox. As I was assembling it Morgan walked in my office and asked, “Daddy, can you take my picture?” I was shocked! It’s a rare occurrence that any of our kids volunteer to have their picture taken so of course I said yes. Our ‘Father-Daughter’ session didn’t last long. After 20 minutes, Morgan was done and wanted to play with her ponies. It was the BEST 20 minutes I can remember in a while. Results are below. Happy 4th Birthday to my Little Miss Mo!
On this day, we welcomed into our world Morgan Marie Cantu. She was born at 9:32am weighing 7lbs 7oz and 19 1/4″ long. God gave us another beautiful gift. Are we deserving? Not in a zillion years, but He trusts us! So we parented the best we know how for the past 4 years with this little one (plus about 6 1/2 with the twins) and love our children more than any other human beings could possibly love. That counts for everything!

Updates:
I’m working hard to add content to our blog. My main goal for now is to add photos and slide shows to the SlideShow Archive link at the top of the page. I have most of 2008 populated with content. 2004 has two months (May & June) of slide shows for viewing. As time permits, I’ll add content to the rest of 2004-2007. When it’s done, our blog will definitely be the place to look back at our past and remember the tough and good times so far. Please check back often.
Delays:
No new photos on the bathroom remodel. There were a couple of snags last week. First, we were short some tiles in the master bathroom. We didn’t plan on ripping out the carpet in our closets. We had to order more tiles to complete the floor. Let me just pass along a great big THANK YOU to Carol over at Design Carpet. Carol ordered some more tile from the supplier. It was delivered broken. She reordered and the second delivery was the wrong color. Third delivery was correct. None of these mistakes were her fault. Instead she went our of her way to deliver the tiles personally to our house. Then we needed more tile for the hall bathroom. Michelle will start ending all of her tile order conversations with “I’ll be back.”
At the same time last week our contractor’s truck quit working. He spent last week searching for a new one. Hopefully this week they can finish up with the guest bathroom.
Movie:
Last night Michelle and I took Sadee and Joshua to see Wall-E at the Silverado 19 Theaters in Tomball. The movie was good but not great. It reminded me of the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks. The first 20-30 minutes, there was no dialogue. Wall-E went about his business as a small trash compactor on the uninhabited Earth. Like I said, overall it was a good movie. My kids on the other hand enjoyed it. The lights get dim, the previews start and about 10 minutes into the previews… the power goes out. The emergency lights kick on. We wait for 5 minutes or so when a manager walks in and informs our theater lighting struck the building. It will be a little bit longer before the show resumes.
The Silverado 19 Theater was amazing! Huge, clean, and self serve ICEE and soda fountains. Woot Woot!! Like the name implies, the Silverado has 19 theaters. I believe all the theaters have digital projectors and digital sound. Digital makes for an amazing viewing experience. The concessions had a different spin. You buy your food and snack like regular, but the sodas are FREE REFILLS! Once you buy your drink the concessions supply you with an empty cup. They even have free refills on ICEE. The bathrooms are clean and plentiful. Even during the busy rush I didn’t have to wait. This was just on the first floor, right side of the place.
The Silverado 19 also has an IMAX theater. Can’t wait to see the Dark Knight on the IMAX. If you’re in the Tomball area I’d definitely recommend you visit.

As you can see in one set of photos, we are in the middle of remodel mayhem. Both bathrooms are out of service! No tubs and one little powder room toilet left in the utility room. But the results should justify the means. Check back in about a week to view photos of our new spaces. Or three weeks depending on how long this job really takes!! You know what this leads to? More remodels. The bathrooms will just make the rest of the house look bad. When we finally pay off the bathrooms, then on to the kitchen. This is why you probably heard about us wanting to house shop a few months back!
