Little Pimps and Angels

PIMP: My brother-in-law, Eric, works for Continental. While at work, he found an unclaimed little girl’s bath robe. Eric thought Sadee would like it. He brought it home, washed it and gave it to her. For Christmas Sadee received a princess robe, so she told her brother he could have the leopard one. No big deal, right? Sadee had one and Josh was excited to have a bath robe, too. Ahem. Now introducing the coolest cat on the block… Joshua “Don Juan” Cantu! All he is missing is a feathered hat, gold tooth and a cane. His birthday is in four months. HINT HINT! :)

ANGEL: Last night I was working on some photography orders in my office. While I was uploading photos, I was also watching Ice Age 3. Towards the end of the movie guess who happens to stroll in, pull up a chair, and sit next to her daddy. Yes, Little Mo. I loved how one desk lamp lit her face then faded to black all around. Luckily my camera was sitting next to me and, without her noticing, I fired off a bunch of shots.

Michelle - That is hilarious!!! I almost choked from laughing so hard when those first photos popped up! (Josh doesn’t do tough well, though. LOL)
Morgan, on the other hand, is beautiful! That is the face of an angel.

Heather Nix - That is fantastic! Sonny, your photo work amazes me!

Uncle E - First, let’s make it very clear that I didn’t steal that leopard rob out of some body’s bag (after the recent news story about those Continental contractors stealing). It was never claimed, & most likely heading for the trash until I saved it. Secondly, I’m glad to see that one of the twins loves it; I just wasn’t expecting it to be Joshua. Finally, Lil Mo truely is a little angel. Except when she doesn’t get her way. LOL.

Jana Cherry - Leopard robes have never looked sooo cool! :)

SNOW!

“100% chance of snow” and “2 inches or more of snow” are not what Houstonians expect to hear from their weather forecast. We were all excited, but hesitant to believe, that December 4, 2009 would bring the earliest snowfall in our city’s recorded history. And that it brought so much for so many hours! It was like being on vacation in one of those “other northern states.”

It started in our area around 8:30am. It was really coming down by 10am. Sonny took the day off and by lunch I was ready to pick up the twins from school. We stopped by at noon and I caught up with both of their classes heading out for recess. After seeing both of them playing in the snow, I was satisfied that our kids got to share the experience and waited for 3pm to pick them up.

It continued to snow through lunch and about an hour after the twins came home. We all went back outside to play. (Mommy was as giddy as the kids!) Sonny caught some beautiful moments of my parents playing with Josh and Morgan in the front yard. Sadee had just gone back inside. Her pants and shoes were still wet from going outside several times at school and she was too cold. I’ll see if Sonny will let me post a few photos from my camera, even though we know they aren’t quite as sharp, but our pretty princess won’t mind. Although, photos or not, I’m sure none of us will forget this wonderful winter weather!

Paint and Piñata

Happy 4th Birthday, Briana!!!! You are a sweet, fun, smart, and beautiful little girl. Thank you for inviting us to your party.

Faby set the bar high. This was the first birthday party she organized for one of her daughters. Disney Princess bouncing house in the front yard, pink and purple balloons tied to everything, pizza, punch, mermaid pinata, huge Ariel cake, DJ, and face painter that also made balloon animals.

A pinata at any birthday party is a winner! Lined up by size, Morgan was one of the first. She got the hang of things within two swings. Josh had fun and did most of the damage to the mermaid’s hair. Sadee was further down the line and thankfully so. She knows what she’s doing when you hand her a big stick and say hit it hard. Two fists and over the head swings will do some damage fast.

We all got in line for some “ink” and looked at a sheet of drawings. Check out the photos below to see what we picked. Totally fun day!

Baby Powder!

Friday afternoon I received a phone call at work from Michelle.  She was very upset. While Michelle was….um….how can I put this?  Sorry sweetie!  She was in the potty.  During this time Morgan took advantage of this opportunity.  She went into her room, grabbed the baby powder out of the changing table drawer and wanted to freshen up the place. She POURED this stuff all over the living room!  To make matters worse, the ceiling fan got a hold of the dust clouds and helped Morgan spread her good intentions.  She also poured it over herself so it was matted in her hair.  Michelle just bathed and dressed all of the kids to go to Sadee’s dance class.  No time for another bath, so Michelle brushed off as much as possible and ran out the door.

Of course I didn’t think it was that bad… until I got home.  The baby powder was EVERYWHERE!!!  I will say this, the house smelled wonderfully baby powder fresh.  The next four hours were spent vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down everything with a damp cloth.   I’m sure in 5 years from now we’ll look back at this and all have a laugh.

This is what I found when I got home.  ENJOY!

Uncle E - Are you sure she didn’t learn this on some CSI show? You can surely see where everybody has been.

Phil - In five years, you may still be finding fine powder in nooks and crannies… so you may not be laughing… but you’ll still smell fresh as a baby’s hind end.

Christie Lacy - Wow. I don’t know what I would have done!!

Oh Happy Day! Miss Morgan Update

You don’t have to have kids to appreciate this update.  Miss Morgan went poo on the potty for the first time tonight!!  We know this does not spell full potty training, but it is a step in the right direction.  In case the kid-free folk are still not as excited as the parents out there toasting this moment while remembering their child’s first sit down job, or praying their day comes sooner than later, then just think of your favorite gift wrapped up in a huge bow and the angels are singing in heaven.

There was a bathroom celebration!  Mommy, Daddy, Josh and Sadee all clapped and gave Morgan high fives.  Mommy laughed with glee and called the grandparents to share our milestone story.  In case you missed the post a couple weeks back, Morgan turned two on Feb 1st.  She definitely beat the twins on this “first time.”  In their defense, we weren’t expecting them to do many things for 3 more months since they were so preemie.

Hope you don’t mind us sharing this calendar-worthy event.  It’s part of a family blog you just can’t resist.  Either way, this post will not achieve it’s full effect until Morgan is old enough to read.  She will probably turn red while wondering why her Mommy wants to embarrass her.

Sonny Cantu - Being the photographer I wanted to take pictures, but Michelle did not agree with my idea.

*rolls eyes*

March 29, 2009 - 11:50 am

Uncle E - Well, let’s not forget that the twins just needed a little motivation “to go” for the first time too. The most powerful mouse in the free world worked his magic on those two. Morgan just created her own magic, as she does regularly in different ways. Really? No pictures? ;) Our lose.
