What a crazy two weeks. There were many ups and downs, hoping and wishing, and lots of prayers. After 15 days, our power was restored on Saturday night! But we didn’t make it home until Sunday afternoon. I’ll get to that in a bit.
First and foremost, we want to thank Uncle E and Uncle B for letting my family crash at their house! I cannot stress enough how much we all appreciate the very kind offer. And we would also like to thank all our other family and friends that offered helped.
So back to the “light-tricity”. Early last week Josh was talking about going home. I told him we couldn’t go home yet. He quickly replied, “Yeah Daddy, cause we don’t have any lightricity!”
Once again, the tummy bug struck us all. Little Mo got sick on Tuesday night. Then Sadee, Josh, and Michelle were sick Wednesday night. I had to take a day off work to help out. I thought I had escaped the wrath of the tummy bug, but was I wrong. It hit me early Saturday morning and kept me down until Sunday morning. By then I was well enough to help pack up, move home, and start cleaning our place.
I guess it goes without saying… we can do without another hurricane like Ike for at least another 25 years!
